From beautiful views to outdoor adventure, Texas has a lot to offer when it comes to camping. If you’re trying to decide where in the state to pitch a tent or set up your RV, Corsicana, TX, located about one hour south of Dallas, is a great area to consider.
1. American RV Park
American RV Park, located in Corsicana, offers a number of deluxe amenities, including free wi-fi, a dog park, complimentary mail service, and on-site laundry and bath facilities. This campground offers 136 full hook-up sites that include water and electricity. There are 78 pull-thru sites that make it easy to pull your RV in. This park also has a community hall that can be used for group gatherings.
2. Sunset Cove Marina, Campground & Resort
This Corsicana RV campground is ideal for those interested in fishing and boating. A three-lane boat ramp makes getting out on the water a breeze, and an on-site bait store can help with any supplies you need. This campground, which has 22 full RV hookups, also operates a café and laundry facilities.
3. Wooded Acres Campground
This campground in Streetman offers both tent sites and RV hookups, and for those who want a little comfort, cabins are available. This campground is a great spot for fishing, hiking, swimming, and picnicking. Wi-Fi and activities like basketball, volleyball, and shuffleboard are available. Wooded Acres also has a playground.
4. Tanglewood Forest
If you’re looking for a more primitive experience, Tanglewood Forest in Purdon is a great option. Located about 20 miles southwest of Corsicana, Tanglewood Forest has 18 numbered campsites with firepits. You can pull a vehicle up to each campsite to load and unload, but parking at the sites is not allowed. Power and water are available at select locations. Six RV sites have water and electricity, but no sewage hookup.
When it comes to spending quiet time in the forest, there’s no better place than Tanglewood.
5. Llamaland
This farm allows you to pitch a tent and enjoy the landscape and the local llamas. Truck campers and RVs are allowed, but there are only seven sites, so you’ll want to make your reservations early. The campsites are primitive and set among oak trees. Electric, water, and sewer hookups are not available. Llamaland is located in Tool, about 33 miles northeast of Corsicana.
6. Pine Gardens RV Park and Campground
Pine Gardens offers something for everyone. In addition to RV and tent sites, this park has cabins and yurts available to rent. A pool, playgrounds, and outdoor grills are available. Pine Gardens, located in Tool, also has a private pier and boat launch.
7. Lakeridge RV Park
Lakeridge is a full-service RV park that offers concrete sites, full hook-ups, and large spaces. Internet service and laundry facilities are available. This RV park is located in Gun Barrel City, about 33 miles northeast of Corsicana.
