2022 Ford F-250 SD

The entry-level F-250 is the XL. It has 17-inch steel wheels, steel bumpers, black plastic exterior trim, and manual-folding side mirrors. The XLT adds chrome bumpers, 18-inch alloy wheels, a chrome grille, and heated side exterior mirrors, while stepping up to the Lariat adds power-folding and extendible towing mirrors. Another bump to the King Ranch adds LED lighting in the bed and a remote tailgate release, and the top-level Platinum has body-colored bumpers, LED headlights, and 20-inch wheels.

The base engine for the 2022 F-250 is a 6.2-liter gas V-8 with 385 horsepower. A 7.3-liter gas V-8 is optional and will generate 430 horsepower. For even more power, there's also a 6.7-liter turbodiesel V-8 that puts out 475 horsepower and gets 1,050 pound-feet of torque.

Super Duty pickups are all about power and capability, and the F-250 delivers. It can tow up to 22,800 pounds with the turbodiesel engine and a gooseneck hitch and up to 20,000 pounds with this engine and a conventional hitch. If you have the base engine, it can still pull over 15,000 pounds. Ford also offers the FX4 Off-Road Package and the Tremor Off-Road Package with off-road tires, skid plates, and more to make it capable of tackling rough terrain.

Depending on the cab, the F-250 can seat up to six. Cloth upholstery comes in the XLT with leather added to the Lariat and above. The cabin comes with features such as heated seats, massaging, and ventilated front seats if you have the Platinum or Limited, and you can also get driver's seat memory settings and a heated steering wheel wrapped in leather in these top trims.
The technology starts with an 8-inch touch screen, but the 2022 F-250 now comes with the new larger 12-inch touch screen in the Lariat and above and the updated SYNC 4 infotainment system with better technology and wireless connectivity. Bump all the way to the top-level Limited, and you'll gain a 10-speaker B&O stereo system and a Wi-Fi hot spot.

Every 2022 F-250 has a rearview camera, and the XLT and above come standard with forward collision warning, automatic braking, and lane-departure warning. A blind-spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alert is an added feature with the XLT and above, and the Lariat adds a reverse sensing system. The King Ranch comes with all these safety systems and adds a trailer backup assist package and a trailer tow camera system. Adaptive cruise control comes with the Limited and Platinum, while the top-level Limited also comes with automatic high beam headlights, lane-keeping alert, and adaptive steering.
