2021 Ford Mustang

The 2021 Ford Mustang is available in ten trim packages, including the EcoBoost Fastback, EcoBoost Premium Fastback, EcoBoost Convertible, GT Fastback, EcoBoost Premium Convertible, GT Premium Fastback, GT Premium Convertible, Mach 1, Mach 1 Premium, and Shelby GT500. All trims feature LED exterior lighting, daytime running lights, and a capless fuel filler. Rain-sensing wipers and automatic high beams are optional. The Mustang is available in ten exciting paint colors. Choose from Twister Orange, Rapid Red, Velocity Blue, Grabber Yellow, Shadow Black, Carbonized Gray, Iconic Silver, AntiMatter Blue, Race Red, and Oxford White.

The Mustang EcoBoost trims have a 310 horsepower, 2.3-liter turbocharged Ecoboost I-4 engine that produces 350 pound-feet of torque. An available high-performance package increases the EcoBoost's output to 332 horsepower. GT trims have a 460 horsepower, 5.0-liter V-8 that produces 420 pound-feet of torque. A six-speed manual transmission is standard on the EcoBoost and GT trims.

The Mustang Mach 1 has a 480 horsepower, 5.0-liter V-8 that produces 420 pound-feet of torque. The engine is paired with a six-speed manual transmission that includes rev-matching. Designed for speed and performance, Mach 1 has two side heat exchangers to increase endurance when track racing. The top-of-the-line Shelby GT500 has a brawny 760 horsepower, 5.2-liter supercharged cross-plank crank V-8 engine that produces a whopping 625 pound-feet of torque. The Shelby engine is paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.

All 2021 Mustangs are rear-wheel drive. A ten-speed automatic transmission is available on all models except for the Shelby.

The 2021 Mustang provides a balanced, smooth ride thanks to its MagneRide Damping System. The independent rear suspension minimizes body roll and provides precise handling. Standard power-assist steering offers three levels of control, including comfort, normal, and sport.

Launch control coordinates control of the powertrain, traction, and brakes to provide lightning-quick track starts. Electronic line-lock automatically locks the front brakes while releasing rear brakes. All engines also include an active valve performance exhaust system that keeps things quiet when driving through your neighborhood or roars when smoking the competition on the track.

All models provide comfortable seating for four. Standard interior features include an active noise cancellation system, auto-dimming rearview mirror, instrument cluster track apps, and steering-wheel-mounted audio and cruise controls. Convertibles have 11.4 cubic feet of cargo space, and all others have 13.5 cubic feet. The 50/50 split rear seat folds flat for carrying longer items.

Infotainment features include a six-speaker audio system, USB ports, a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hot spot, touch-screen display, hands-free phone, 911 Assist, satellite radio, voice command, and Bluetooth streaming audio. High-end models include a larger touch screen and a nine-speaker audio system.

All 2021 Mustangs include a suite of advanced air bags and LATCH in the second row. Pre-collision assist, automatic emergency braking, a rear-view camera, and remote keyless entry are standard on all models. In an accident with air bag deployment, the Mustang's standard SOS Post-Crash Alert System will flash the emergency lights and honk the horn to reduce emergency response time.
